Sightseeing around Lisbon...

Jerónimos Monastery: The façade of the limestone building exceeds 300m in length. The architecture shows a transition from the late-Gothic to the Renaissance style.

Monument to the Discoveries: It was built in 1960 for the Portugese World Exhibition, and it takes the shape of a caravel, the ship used for the Portugese Discoveries.

Belem Tower: Built where previously a ship known as the "Grande Nau" had defended the tagus riverbar, the tower was completed in 1520.

St. George's Castle: Its present appearance is that of the medieval construction with 10 square towers. There are still remains of the ruins of the royal palace.
