Visit to Copenhagen
1 - 4 February 2007
Took a day off, packed my backpack, and set off to Copenhagen... A Copenhagen trip with 2 other friends, nice!!! ;)
It was a long and lonely ride to Denmark, it came in a package with the bus and ferry ride, plus a stopover in Hamburg, together with many security checks across from borders to borders...finally reaching Copenhagen in 14 hours...
City Hall or Town Hall
Think Copenhagen is a neat & tidy city, with big and nicely-polished buildings, lamp-post strategically located, clean streets, big spacious central station, helpful people too ;)
Bronze statue of Hans Christian Andersen
A habour city, by the sea...we took a boat ride and passed by the Opera House as we enjoyed the afternoon sun :) Rosenborg Castle & the Royal Garden, the palace of the Danish Royals
Kronborg Castle: A lonely castle standing by the sea, this is the setting that Shakespeare used for his classic work Hamlet... The Little Mermaid
Statens Museum for Kunst is the Danish National Gallery that houses many famous art pieces, sculptures, paintings...
In the Museum...the Cupid & Psyche...dedicate this to all couples out there for Valentine's Day ;)
We attended the Winter Conference of Denmark :) and made some new friends ;)
Generally felt that the local Danish people are pretty reserved people, who keep to themselves more, they are not very proactive to say hello to strangers, however they are really very helpful and friendly if you approached them for help...and they speak good English too ;) I felt myself being understood easier...
