元宵节 (Yuan Xiao Jie)

It's 元宵节 today, the 15th day, also the last day of Chinese New Year...

Spent this last day with the Malaysian community here in Belgium, in the Chap Goh Meh (another name for this festival in Hokkien dialect) event organized by the Malaysia Association of Belgium & Luxembourg.

Again, nothing goes without food, so lots of home-cooked local asian food and desserts...smmuckk ;) and my favourite 年高 (Nian Gao) is there too...wah...

Mandarines & Yu Sheng

My first angbao ;) yeah V

During this day, back home, we will prepare 汤圆 (Tang Yuan) which is glutinous rice balls boiled in syrup and taken as dessert. It represents 圆圆满满 (happiness and harmony together) for the family, anyway it simply means something good, that's why it is part of the culture ;)
