Chocolate & Beer Museums
2 December 2006
This was a museum week, not the super-duper-arty-farty stuff, but going for those fun and unique museums...
We chose some unique museums such as chocolate and beer museums...hmm...not really very unique though, because chocolates and beer are very much part of the lifestyle here, and yet they have their very own dedicated museums...interesting though...
1) Museum of Cocoa and Chocolate in Brussels :-D

My favourite white chocolate :-)
Why are chocolate white? Curious...
We asked the lady boss, and she said that white chocolate is made from cocoa butter and not cocoa powder, hence it don't have the dark look ;) also white chocolate is more fattening coz of cocoa butter, and indeed white chocolate is also sweeter than the dark one... ;)
2) Brussels Gueuze Museum (Cantillon Brewery)
http://www.cantillon.be/
Machines that mix and blend all the raw ingredients together, at the very beginning of the fermentation process...
Raw materials include wheat, malt and hop
Barrels of beer under the fermentation process, and the bottling machine...
Spiders and cobwebs are seen all over the fermentation room, and they are there for a purpose... As understood from the owner, insects are attracted to the beer during the fermentation process. The spiders will then eat up those insects and keep the fermentation free from pests...oic...no wonder ;-)
We ended the day with the latest James Bond movie, Casino Royale ;-D
