Visit to Namur

26 December 2006

Namur is located south-east of Brussels, it is considered as the capital of Wallonia (southern French-speaking region of Belgium).

Namur Citadel is one of biggest fortress sites in Belgium. It consists of an extensive incredible underground network with a real buried military base from the 16th to the 20th century. Soldiers could live for a month without coming out into the open. It was termed as the 'termite mound of Europe'.
